Okanagan Lakefront Tour — Part 3: Affordable Ways to Own on the Lake
I'm Lisa Salt with RE/MAX Vernon and Salt Fowler. Welcome to part three of our annual lakefront tour.
Today I'm going to show you the real, more affordable ways to own on the lake — strata townhomes and condos that are currently for sale. Some are more budget-friendly; some are higher-end strata. We'll start with The Outback.
The Outback (overview)
The Outback is one of Vernon’s most unique communities, tucked into nature with dramatic cliffs and trees. The community mixes villas, forest cabins, ridge homes and offers a private resort-style lake experience with pools, hot tubs, tennis, two beaches (South Bay and Quarry Bay) and marina access.
Unit #89 — Trout Lake
Lower unit Trout Lake — listed as the most affordable option at The Outback.
Unit #69 — Forest Cabin
Forest cabin with attached casita (bedroom and bathroom in the casita). Located away from the lake in the forest; some units may have lake views.
Unit #58 — Forest Cabin
Same basic floor plan as other forest cabins; open layout and vaulted ceilings highlighted in the listing.
Unit #50 — Quarry Bay
Quarry Bay unit with option to purchase a boat slip. Access to Quarry Bay Beach via glass elevator and man-made tunnel; swimming from the rocks and a family-friendly sitting area are noted.
Unit #159 — Ridge Home
Ridge home with rare garage, expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and strong lake views; floor plan and finishes command a higher price at The Outback.
Units #125 & #126 — Ridge Duplex (two halves)
Custom residence with lakeside hot tub, media room, lower-level rec room and three assigned parking stalls; access to Outback amenities included.
7779 Okanagan Landing Road — Unit #6
Building of twelve units; this complex has been approved for a dock with individual boat slips. Additional dock cost estimated at approximately $12,500 on top of a previously paid $5,000.
Silverton on the Lake — 7701 Okanogan Landing Road
Unit #15
Back unit with access to a high-end boat slip; built in 1996 with many upgrades and access to a two-car garage and small yard.
Unit #4
Side unit with fewer stairs than other units, two-car garage, access to the dock and boat slip, close to town and local amenities. Upgrades noted include vaulted ceilings, quartz countertops and custom tiled ensuite.
Tuscan Terraces — 7373 Brooks Lane
Tuscan Terraces is a luxury boutique lakeside bare-land strata community with 18 homes, gated and offering private beach and boat slips. Units are described as high-end, lock-and-leave summer townhouses and detached bare-land strata houses.
Unit #8
Unit #4
Unit #4 noted as detached with high-end finishes and split-level entry; community includes one- or two-car garages and resort-like features.
The Strand Lakeside Resort
The Strand is described as one of the most affordable and flexible ways to enjoy true lakefront living on Okanagan Lake. Resort-style features include a sandy beach, private marina, outdoor pool, hot tub, courtyard area and underground parking. Noted as one of the few waterfront developments in Vernon that will allow some short-term rentals (per the transcript).
Unit 1214
Unit 2204
Unit 1124
Unit 1130
Transcript notes the Strand listings currently range from $418,000 up to $673,400, and that other sales can be higher depending on the unit and upgrades.
That concludes Part 3 of our lakefront Sea-Doo tour — the more affordable ways to own on Okanagan Lake. If you found something that caught your eye, contact the lakefront specialists at RE/MAX Vernon and Salt Fowler; we're here to help anytime.
